It took me about a year of working two part-time jobs to come across my current employer, a national non-profit organization. I've been there now 4.5 years and I enjoy what I do. Is it stressful? Sure, sometimes. But what job isn't? Am I financially stable? Yes, but the money isn't the motivating factor. It also took a few years to get to this point. When I took my original position with the organization it was at a low salary, but I looked at it as an opportunity to get my foot in the door at a respected organization I wanted to be a part of. I've since been promoted three times and have gained valuable experience in the public relations field. My advise- if you enjoy your classes stick with your major. Every major company in the world has a marketing/communications department. So if your passion is finance, pharma, non-profit, etc, chances are you'll find a job with a company that shares your interests. Best of luck.
